1. Delete in the BorrowFuel app (fastest)
- Open the BorrowFuel customer app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
This deactivates your login and signs you out. You will no longer be able to sign in with that account.
2. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email us from the address registered on your account:
- Subject: Delete BorrowFuel account
- Include your registered email and full name so we can verify the request
We aim to process email deletion requests within 30 days of verifying ownership of the account.
3. What data is deleted or anonymised
When your account is deleted we:
- Block further sign-in to the account
- Anonymise or remove personal identifiers such as name, email, and phone number used for login
- Invalidate active sessions / tokens
4. What data may be retained
We may retain certain records as required for legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. This typically includes:
- Fuel purchase and repayment / payment transaction records (and related references from payment providers such as Paystack)
- KYC verification records or audit logs where retention is required by law or for security investigations
- Aggregated or anonymised analytics that no longer identify you
Retained financial or compliance records are kept only as long as needed for those purposes, then deleted or further anonymised according to our retention schedule. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
5. Outstanding balances
Deleting your account does not cancel any outstanding amount you still owe for fuel already dispensed. Contact nickoklaus5@gmail.com if you need help settling a balance before or after deletion.
